The racing formula for the first Grand Prix ACF in 1906 allowed a maximum mass not filled car of 1000 kg for cars with the ignition of the reel and 1007 kg of magneto ignition. This, at first glance, a strange distinction to the ignition system was intended to promote the second system, promising a number of practical advantages. Of course, 7 kg in favor of the magneto have not been substantiated; magneto can weigh 7 pounds more than the reel and the battery.
